Every Thursday from 3 to 7pm, Dufferin Grove Farmers’ Market takes over the New Dufferin Grove Clubhouse at 875 Dufferin St. It runs year-round and has been going strong since 2002, making it one of Toronto’s longest-running and most trusted markets.
Created to connect local organic producers with the community, the market holds itself to high standards. The majority of vendors are certified organic or follow transparent, sustainable practices, which means you can shop with confidence. It is also a true one-stop shop. In one lap you can pick up peak-season produce, fresh bread, mushrooms, fish, cheese, and ready-to-eat meals without bouncing around the city.
Expect standout produce from farms like Aldergrove, Kooner, Nith Valley, Noki, Reyes, and Sundance Harvest. Think tomato bushels for sauce and canning, gourmet mushrooms, just-picked carrots, multiple apple varieties, fresh apricots, and shishito peppers that regulars snap up quickly. This is the kind of produce that makes weeknight cooking feel elevated and effortless.
For proteins and dairy, look to First Fish, Monforte Dairy, Hammerhead’s Fresh, and Roger’s Ranch. Planning a market fish night becomes easy when the catch is right in front of you. Add small-batch upgrades like wildflower honey from Forbes Wild Foods or seasonal pops from Jiggy Popz, and suddenly even simple meals feel considered.
Then there is the baking and prepared food. Robinson Bread’s focaccia, Lev Bakery staples, Magic Oven favourites, Earth & City, and TC Tibetan Momos mean you can grab dinner on the spot or build a spread around fresh bread and dips.
Because it is set inside one of the west end’s most-loved parks, the market feels social by default. You run into neighbours, discover something new each week, and leave with an actual plan for dinner.
When you live at Marlow, this is not a special outing. It is a Thursday ritual. Grab your tote, do a lap, and head home with food that actually tastes like something. Fresh Ontario ingredients, built right into your week.
